Actor Vishwak Sen promised to boycott marketing if Gangs of Godavari was not published in december of last year, but he quickly realised the truth. According to the new release schedule, Gangs of Godavari should be released on march 8th. According to sources, the film is also on the verge of being pushed back from its original release date. Due to a personal tragedy in the family, music composer Yuvan shankar Raja's work for Gangs of Godavari's background soundtrack has been delayed. Aside from that, the crew is now shooting a special song with bigg boss star Ayesha Khan.

While the release date question persists, other filmmakers are already seeking for and locking down a march 8th release date. anand Deverakonda's 'Gam Gam Ganesha' has declared the same release date, while varun Tej's Operation valentine is also rumoured to be moved from march 1st to march 8th owing to technical concerns. Gopichand's Bheema has officially confirmed the march 8th release date.

If Gangs of Godavari wishes to change the release date from march 8th, it can do so on march 15th or 22nd. Tillu Square has set a release date of march 29th, while Vijay Devarakonda's Family Star will be released on april 5. All of these difficulties and release dates are putting a damper on Gangs Of Godavari's solo debut. Meanwhile, Vishwak Sen's Gaami is preparing for marketing.
