The much-anticipated biopic of the legendary music composer, Isaigyani ilayaraja, was officially launched yesterday. Recognized as one of the most influential musicians in indian cinema history, Ilayaraja's biopic titled 'Ilayaraaja' will feature dhanush in the titular role. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the project aims to celebrate the life and legacy of the maestro.
In a momentous event, ilayaraja and kamal haasan unveiled the first look poster of the film, generating significant excitement among fans. Adding to the intrigue, it has been reported that kamal haasan will be involved in writing the screenplay for the biopic, although an official announcement from him is awaited to confirm this news.
Notably, ilayaraja himself will compose the music for the film, adding a unique authenticity to the project. Jointly produced by Connect Media-PK Prime Production and Mercury Group, the biopic is poised to be one of the most eagerly awaited films in tamil cinema.
This is scheduled for release in tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and kannada languages, the film boasts a stellar technical team, with Nirav Shah serving as the director of Photography and Muthuraj as the Art Director. The shooting for this highly anticipated biopic is set to commence later this year, with a planned release for the following year.
During the launch event, dhanush expressed his delight at being a part of this project, revealing that he had long harboured a desire to star in biopics honouring both ilayaraja and superstar Rajinikanth. His involvement in 'Ilayaraaja' fulfils one of those aspirations, marking a significant milestone in his career.
