If all had gone according to plan, Devara, which was supposed to be released on april 5th, might have become Tollywood's first film to earn Rs 100 crores today. If Devara had gone on as planned, conversations in telugu circles would have focused on the ntr film's box office debut performance. With the summer release window and the gap left by the absence of blockbuster pictures, Devara might have benefited greatly from the trend if it had come out on april 5.

Given the mix of the excitement and the state of the box office, there's a decent probability that Devara might have opened in the neighbourhood of Rs 100 crore gross on opening day with a strong soundtrack and trailer. We could have spoken a lot about how the figures from Kalki, pushpa 2, and Game Changer were contrasted to the American and hindi premieres of Devara.

However, since Devara relocated to a later date, all of this was for naught. Instead, Family Star, starring Vijay Deverakonda, locked the date but is struggling at the box office. Devara also lost out on a very profitable opportunity since the Ugadi holiday fell during the first week of the second week of the box office run, and there were several additional holidays in April. For ntr, it's a wasted wonderful opportunity.
