'Premalu' notoriety "Rebel," Mamitha Baiju's most recent tamil film starring gv prakash Kumar, was a complete box office failure. Surprisingly, only two weeks after it opened in theatres, "Rebel" is now available for streaming in tamil and telugu with english subtitles on amazon Prime Video. This early release has shocked many moviegoers, who fear it is the start of a terrible trend.

After barely two weeks, "Rebel" is now available on Netflix, while other films like "Premalu" and "Manjummel Boys" are postponing their OTT streaming dates to assist theatres. It appears that this is a harmful practice meant to deter people from attending films in theatres. Why would any moviegoer pay $300 to see a movie in a theatre when it could be seen for free on OTT in ten to fifteen days?

Even more unexpected is the fact that Studio Green, a major production firm, is behind "Rebel." It is these production firms that have destroyed the theatre industry. "Rebel" narrates the tale of a tamil student in kerala who encounters difficulties from a political faction. Nikesh RS wrote the script and directed it, while gv prakash composed the soundtrack.
