Veteran actor nana patekar recently opened up about his personal life and a tragic incident. He discussed his anger as he recalled losing his elder brother and younger son. Nana said that he must have inherited this anger from his mother, who would beat him regularly and never show grief, even when her elder son died after falling from a building in his teens.

Nana Patekar talks about losing his son 

In an interview, Nana also talked about losing his son, who was born with multiple disabilities and died at the age of two. When asked about how he dealt with the loss, he said in Hindi, "My elder son was born with a cleft palate, he also had difficulty seeing with one eye. When I used to see him like this, the first thought that came to my mind was, 'What will people think about me, my son looks like this'. Imagine what a bad guy I am. My first worry was what people would say about me, not about him."

Nana Patekar said his son was named after the 'angriest sage' Durvasa. He died at the age of two-and-a-half years but taught the actor a lot. "He is the triggering point. I have always had a brave attitude. I don't cry. I cry only in films and I do it for money," he said. 

Nana Patekar talked about his addiction to smoking cigarettes

Nana also spoke about his wife. He said that they have not been living together for years and when he went out to live his life, his wife took care of his elderly mother. He said that even after his son's death, he continued smoking, due to which people started staying away from him. The actor said, "At that time I used to smoke about 60 cigarettes a day. I used to smoke even while bathing, but it is very bad. No one would sit in my car because of the bad smell. I never drank alcohol, but I used to smoke a lot."

Nana Patekar's personal life

Nana Patekar was married to a girl named Neelakanti when he was 27 years old. The actor got married in 1978. It was an arranged marriage. He and his wife have a son Malhar Patekar, who has a keen interest in direction. At the same time, one of his sons died just 2 years after birth, due to which he was completely shattered.
