Lilliput talked about his failed attempts to work with amitabh bachchan in an interview given to Bollywood Thikana. The actor said, "I was playing cards when I got a call from Subhash Ghai. He asked me to meet him at his office. I did not have money to go to Bandra, so one of the people I was playing cards with took me there. Subhash ji told me, 'I am making a film, Sher Bahadur. And amitabh bachchan will be the hero in it and you will be the villain.'"

'Amit ji was not well and the film did not happen'

At that time, Lilliput was already working on films like 'Saagar', 'Ameer Aadmi' and 'Shararat' and had also signed up for many other films. subhash ghai insisted that he should leave those projects to avoid any on-screen image before the release of Sher Bahadur. Lilliput said, "What was my status? How could I tell the people who had shot the film not to release it? Will you get me a shoe? I left the roles I had signed for Sher Bahadur, but that was shelved and I was left without work. amit ji was not well and the film did not get made.''

Lilliput was supposed to act in another film 'Ashiana' with amitabh bachchan, but that project too did not materialize, leaving him disappointed. Because of this, Lilliput started considering himself 'jiminhoos' (unlucky). Lilliput said, ''I told amit ji on his face, 'Don't try to act with me!''

Years later, when director Shaad ali approached him for 'Bunty Aur Babli', he was skeptical. Having faced his past experiences, the actor warned Shaad and said, ''I am jinxed.
