According to initial reports by Pakistani media, the singer was detained following a complaint filed by his former manager, salman Ahmed. 

Rahat Fateh ali Khan arrested in Dubai

The singer was held at the dubai airport for several hours. He had traveled to the uae for a performance but was taken into custody at the immigration center and later moved to the Burj dubai police station for questioning, as reported by GeoTV. Rahat’s former manager Ahmed had submitted complaints against him to the dubai authorities, as per the sources.
