Bandi Saroj Kumar To Release His Next, Parakramam, On Chiranjeevi's Birthday:

Director Bandi Saroj Kumar is gearing up for his upcoming film Parakramam, where he not only directs but also stars in the lead role. Produced under the banner of BSK Mainstream, the film also features sruthi Samanvi, Mohan Senapati, Nikhil Gopu, Anil Kumar, and naga Lakshmi in pivotal roles. Ahead of the film’s release, a press meet was held in hyderabad where the makers announced the official release date.

During the press meeting, Bandi Saroj Kumar expressed his excitement about releasing his film on august 22, in honour of Chiranjeevi’s birthday. “People don’t like it when I don’t put ‘garu’ after his name. But I don’t understand. If you call your mother ‘Amma garu’, you will sound like a servant, not a child. Similarly, to me, chiranjeevi is an emotion. I call him just chiranjeevi,” he added.

Bandi Saroj Kumar further explained that the story of Parakramam is inspired by his own life. He mentioned that he has created a youthful, contemporary drama that illustrates how the caste system impacts even cities like Hyderabad. He said, “This is a story of a class conflict. I come from a lower-middle-class family. When I used to live in a boy’s hostel in Narayanaguda in hyderabad, a rich kid, who was the son of an RTO officer, used to stay in the neighbourhood. One day, when I was practising batting all alone, he called me and said something that reflected his classist mindset. He looked down upon me. That day, I resolved that I must reach a position where he would look up to me. I thank him for what I am today.”

Speaking about his character Lovaraju, Bandi Saroj Kumar shared that it is inspired by the experiences and struggles of the bottom rung of society. Saroj also introduced his core team one by one and spoke about the film’s memorable characters on the occasion. He emphasized that, much like in the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, every character in Parakramam has a purpose.

Parakramam revolves around Lovaraju (Played by Bandi), a theatre artist and gully cricketer in the village of Lampakalova. The film highlights the caste divide through a game of cricket.
