In a recent chat show, ranbir kapoor spoke openly about his marriage with alia, their 11-year age gap, and how the actress has made more efforts to make things easier for him.

Ranbir Kapoor remembers his first meeting with Alia

"I am very fortunate that I married someone very close to me and we can chat, laugh, talk about things. You know, like she is my best friend. I am fortunate in that regard," Ranbir told Nikhil Kamath's podcast.

Talking about Alia's personality, he said, "Alia is a wonderful person. She is a very colorful person. She is 11 years younger than me and it is a lot of fun. The first time I met alia was when she was 9 and I was 20 and we did a photoshoot together because sanjay leela bhansali wanted to make a film called 'Balika Vadhu' based on child marriage. That was the first time I met her. It feels a bit strange to say this now." 

Ranbir further said, “Alia is someone I have met over the years and I think she is a special person. I greatly respect her as an actor, artist, human being, daughter, and sister. She makes me laugh. I love spending holidays with her, but I also love staying at home with her.”

Ranbir Kapoor revealed Alia's mood

When asked if alia is generally in a good mood, Ranbir said, "She is ambitious and she achieves a lot. Work is something she is very passionate about. Very passionate, very intelligent. So yes, she has spaces where she is scattered so you have to get her attention but I think in the last few years I have complained to her about that, so she is paying attention to me. When I talk, she listens. She has put in some effort and I must admit that the things I complain about, she puts in more effort for them."

Ranbir said that alia has made a lot of changes in herself for him

Ranbir admitted that alia has made more efforts for him and said, "She has changed for me more than I have changed for her. I am accepting that, but I should do something about it. I should change a little bit... She used to talk very loudly and I think I was always disturbed because of my father's voice. So she made an effort to change and that is not easy. You have spent 30 years of your life speaking a certain way. She is someone who reacts very instinctively when Raha falls. She does certain things that make me feel comfortable. I hope I can say something that makes her feel comfortable, but I don't think I have done that yet. I made a cake once on her birthday."

He further said, "We have been living together since the first year of dating. It was in 2018 when we did a film called 'Brahmastra', which was made by Ayan (Mukherjee)." Ranbir said that his 'romance' with alia started with a flight to Tel Aviv. He said that their relationship grew stronger during the pandemic.
