Actor Sanya Malhotra, who was born in delhi and currently works in Mumbai, acknowledges that her sense of style has been greatly influenced by both places. "My sense of style is really erratic. Since I'm from delhi, even if I'm just going to be out for five minutes, I want to get dressed up, put on makeup, and act appropriately. I've grown much more laid-back and easygoing with my sense of style in Mumbai," she says, adding that her Delhi-based pals were shocked to see what she was wearing.

"Oh, you look very simple," they would say, and with a negative implication. When I went to Delhi's Khan Market wearing chappals, I committed the ultimate transgression. I am lot more conscious now, and I know what I prefer to wear, but I'm still working on developing my own sense of style," she adds.

The actor claims that she had been "missing that for a long time" and that "fashion gives you the opportunity to express yourself in a different way." Even her fans agree with Malhotra when she says that her on-screen appearance is different from who she really is: "People don't recognise me if I go out with straight hair." Since there is a recall value to it, I believe bollywood performers who appear nearly identical in every role are doing the right thing. However, I am unable to accomplish it.
