Lando: Star Wars project 'Lando' shelved, director Justin Simien said this expressing grief

A big piece of information has come out about Solo: A Star Wars Story's spinoff series 'Lando'. The series has now been shelved. This information has been given by director Justin Simien himself. According to him, the Lando series will no longer be produced.

Collider published Simien's comment on Friday, which indicated that Lando is now over. Simien is currently promoting 'Hollywood Black', an MGM+ docuseries based on Donald Bogle's book.

Talking about Lando, he said, "A lot of work had progressed on it. There was a bible in it. There was concept art in it. There was a script in it, but now it is not being made." Also, he expressed grief over the closure of this project.

The director said, "I am in grief. I don't feel good." I should let myself feel those emotions. I have so much that I can keep with me forever and take it to my next project. Even if I can't take its storyline or IP or character, I have a lot of it as a filmmaker and it's mine."

Lando was first announced in 2020. There is no clear information yet about why Lando has been closed. Talking about the work front, Simien has a live-action Star Trek comedy series, starring Tony Newsome in the lead role. It was announced at San Diego Comic-Con. At the same time, talking about the docuseries hollywood Black will premiere on MGM+ on august 11.
