Poonam Pandey said in a recent conversation, 'I did it for a purpose. people have not yet come to their senses. They are not even able to understand that today the women sitting in the village have come to know about cervical cancer. So my work is done but it was very bad for me. It was like a disaster for me. I was like, 'Yaar koi to samjho, but I don't know how I went through that phase.'

The news of the sudden death of the actress shook everyone. Many people had already claimed that it was nothing more than a publicity stunt. After the news of Poonam's death, many celebs including Anupam Kher and Kangana Ranaut paid tribute to the actress on their respective ex handles.

A day after her death drama, Poonam herself came forward and released a video to inform that she was alive. Poonam claimed in the video that the purpose of her death was to raise awareness about cervical cancer. After this statement her, many people on social media got angry at the actress.

Poonam Pandey had released a video and said, 'I am alive, I did not die due to cervical cancer. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the hundreds and thousands of women who have lost their lives due to cervical cancer. It's not because she couldn't do anything about it, but because she didn't know what to do. I'm here to tell you that cervical cancer is preventable, unlike other cancers. All you need to do is get yourself tested and get the hiv vaccine.'
