She had a very interesting conversation with 'Amar Ujala's consulting editor Pankaj Shukla a long time ago, here are some special excerpts from that...

The story of Malvika becoming a heroine is very interesting. In a conversation with 'Amar Ujala', Malavika says, "I was in college those days and I did not know which direction I have to go in. It was decided that I didn't want to do science or commerce, whatever I wanted to do, I had to do it in arts. And, this incident happened during those days. We watch malayalam movies a lot at home and I have been a big fan of Mammootty sir. He is a big superstar. We had gone to watch the shooting of one of his advertisement films. He saw me there and called me to him."

Actor mammootty not only called Malvika to meet him but also took her audition right there. Malvika tells this with great enthusiasm, "Yes, he kept talking to me for a long time and also took me here and there and shot it. Later he sent all this to the film director. I understood later that the first audition of my career was recorded by Mammootty sirThink, how big a thing this is for any artist. After this audition, I got my first film with his son Dulquer Salman."

Three years ago, the Hindi-speaking states saw the beauty of Malvika on the big screen for the first time in actor Vijay's film 'Master', which was released in hindi dubbed version. Malvika's mother tongue is Malayalam but she jumps up as soon as the topic of tamil cinema comes up. She says, "Whenever I go to Chennai, I find that the kind of madness we used to see for Rajni sir's films, people are now almost as crazy for Vijay sir's films. I think people like his onscreen style. They like his swag. He is a very good entertainer. people love him a lot."

Malvika, who worked with superstar Rajinikanth in the film 'Petta', never forgets the day when they first met. Malvika says, "I first met him in Mussoorie. I was there for the shooting of the film 'Petta'. A day before starting the shooting, I went to meet everyone at the location. I waited for him and after a while, I got a call. Meeting him was a memorable moment. His aura is so strong that it pulls you towards him. He is such a big star but his humility is worth learning. He made me feel very comfortable. The time I spent with him will remain memorable for the rest of my life.”
