Actor-politician kamal haasan made his television debut seven years ago by hosting the tamil version of the reality show Bigg Boss. The show ran for eight seasons on Vijay tv and can also be streamed on Disney Plus Hotstar. Now after all this time, kamal haasan announced on tuesday that he is taking a break from his journey with the channel.

In a statement released on tuesday today, kamal haasan said that he would take a break from his commitment as a host with Vijay tv for some time and he also released a press note regarding this. The actor said in a statement, 'Due to prior cinematic commitments, I am unable to host the upcoming season of bigg boss Tamil. I am fortunate to reach your homes. You have given me your love and affection, for which I will always be grateful to you.'

Kamal Haasan also mentioned his experience as a host and told how much he got to learn. He said, 'I thank you all and the contestants of the show from the bottom of my heart for the time you spent with us.' Kamal also thanked the channel Vijay tv and its team for their support.

Bigg Boss is a tamil reality show in which a group of contestants are made to live in a house free from connections to the outside world and social media. Each contestant is eliminated every week with tasks and challenges. kamal haasan used to interact with the housemates every weekend. The new host is yet to be announced by the channel.

Kamal Haasan was last seen in Indian 2 and kalki 2898 AD in which he played the villain Yaskin. Though his role in the film 'Kalki 2898 AD' was limited, it is expected to be extended in the sequel. The actor also has the tamil film Thug Life with filmmaker Mani Ratnam. The film's release date is yet to be announced.
