Exclusive: Attempts to insult Banga Bandhu will not be tolerated, conspiracy to defame student movement

If you have seen director Vishal Bhardwaj's film 'Khufiya', then you must have recognized the actress Ajmeri Haque Badhon working in it. Ajmeri, who has received Bangladesh's National Film Award for Best Actress, has been openly participating in the student movement in bangladesh for the past several days. She has been strongly opposing the atrocities committed on students and believes that the previous government did not do the right thing by curbing the media, shutting down the internet, and using force. Ajmeri said that the formation of a democratic government in her country is the need of the hour to strengthen the relations between india and Bangladesh. And, she also said that the foreign media should not pay attention to rumors.

After appearing in the film 'Khufiya' was the first to have an exclusive conversation with Ajmeri Haque, and only then it was known that she is a supporter of modern thoughts this matter was also related to her getting the right to raise her daughter. But Ajmeri Haq, who believes that society comes before family and country comes before society, says that efforts are being made to defame the movement and people who have been agitating for an independent democratic bangladesh should stay away from this. She says it is being falsely spread in the media that the agitating students are indulging in violence or are aggressive against any religion or community.

Ajmeri also considers the breaking of the statue of Sheikh Mujiburahman, who is considered the founder of bangladesh, as an act of mischievous elements. She says, 'Every leader associated with the student movement respects Banga Bandhu. It was Banga Bandhu who gave us an independent country and it was he who freed our country from a tyrannical government. No student associated with the movement can insult Banga Bandhu nor can tolerate any act that harms his reputation. These are the acts of anti-social elements and the media is highlighting them and presenting a wrong picture of this entire movement.

According to Ajmeri Haque, “This entire movement has aimed to modernize the country according to the present times and to make it accountable to the public. I have raised my daughter by fighting against Islamic law. The use of force against the protesters was the trigger point of this entire issue. Here it could have been my daughter. If any ruler in power shoots at his citizens, then he has no right to remain in power.”

On the question of leaving acting and joining active politics, Ajmeri Haque's opinion is clear. She says, “Due to working in international films, I often get offers to settle in mumbai or Hollywood. But I am the daughter of Bangladesh. I love my country more than I want fame and wealth. I also want to do a lot for the people of my country but without a political face or the support of any NGO.”
