Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat created history on tuesday by becoming the first indian wrestler to reach the final of an Olympics. While the whole country was anticipating her stellar performance in the women's 50kg wrestling final at the paris olympics, Vinesh was disqualified after she was found to be 100 grams overweight during the weigh-in on the final day. Reacting to the news of Vinesh Phogat being disqualified in the finals of the paris olympics, alia bhatt wrote a long and emotional note praising Vinesh Phogat. The actress wrote, "Vinesh Phogat you are an inspiration to the entire nation. Nothing can take away your strength, nothing can take away your courage and nothing can take away the hardships you have gone through to create history. Today you must be heartbroken, to say the least and we grieve with you. But you are gold, you are iron and you are steel! Nothing can take that away from you! A champion for the ages! There is no one like you."

Farhan Akhtar shared a picture of Vinesh in a new post on instagram, and wrote in the caption, "Vinesh one can only imagine how devastated you must be but still don't fully understand. Heartbroken for you but know that we are all so proud of you and all that you have done for the sport. You will always be a champion and an inspiration to millions. Keep your courage up."

Zoya Akhtar wrote in an instagram post, "Champion, Vinesh you are gold. What you have achieved is beyond medals. So proud. So inspired." sonakshi sinha wrote on her instagram story, "Unbelievable. I can't imagine how you must be feeling right now and I don't know what to say except that you were, are, and will always be a champion!!!!

Taapsee Pannu also expressed her condolences and said, "It's heartbreaking but honestly this woman has made a mark beyond gold by now." Also, rakul preet singh called it "heartbreaking".
