Standup comedian and 'Bigg Boss' season 17 winner Munawar Faruqui has a long and deep connection with controversies. Munawar recently used abusive language for the people of the Konkani community of Maharashtra, after which a section of social media started opposing him. Seeing the anger of the people increasing, the standup comedian has had to apologize.

Munawar Faruqui was seen making inappropriate comments about the Konkani community in a comedy show organized recently. During this, he said, 'Konkani people fool others.' Along with this, he also used an abusive word. This comment of Munawar cost him a lot and he started getting trolled on social media.

Expressing anger, Samadhan, son of shiv sena MLA sada Sarvankar, had said, 'If Munavvar does not apologize to the Konkani people, this pakistan lover will be trampled wherever he is seen.' bjp leader Nitesh Rane had warned the stand-up comedian, 'This green snake has started speaking too much. We have the address of the house of the person who made fun of the people of the Konkani community, we will teach him a lesson soon.'

Protests against Munavvar Faruqui started on social media as well, seeing when the stand-up comedian surrendered. Munavvar presented his clarification by releasing a video on his official social media account. He said, 'While talking to the audience in a show held a few days ago, I commented Konkan, which was misunderstood. I have not made fun of the Konkani community.'

Munavvar Faruqui further added in his statement, 'My job is to make people laugh and not to hurt anyone. If my comment has hurt anyone, I want to apologize from the bottom of my heart.' He also tweeted in Marathi, 'A lot of love and apology to the Konkanis.'
