Rajesh Khanna was called the first superstar of hindi cinema. His stardom was tremendous and he is remembered even after his death. In his later days, when rajesh khanna did not have much work in films, he also got an offer for 'Bigg Boss'. The producers of the television show offered him a hefty amount for each episode but the late veteran actor turned down the offer.

This information was given by senior journalist ali Peter john, who has now passed away. ali said this when Rediff interviewed him. The journalist said, "Once, the producers of Big Boss called me to fix a meeting with him (Rajesh Khanna), they wanted him in the Big Boss house. But he said, "No, no, rajesh khanna will not do such a show." Peter john also said that the makers were ready to pay rajesh khanna three and a half crore rupees for each episode but the deal could not be finalized.


He also mentioned that he tried hard to convince Khanna but he was adamant about not doing it. Much later, rajesh khanna changed his mind and decided to accept the offer, but by then, the channel was not interested in taking him on the show.

Rajesh Khanna died in 2012

Ali also recalled his meeting with the superstar in his last days. He said that he met Khanna just two months before his death. The legendary actor had told ali Peter john, "If Ghalib can drink and die, why can't I?" Khanna died on 18 July 2012. He had been suffering from ill health since July 2011 when he was diagnosed with cancer. This was revealed by his co-actress Mumtaz after his death.
