Before Rajkumar Hirani, s shankar and SS Rajamouli, there was a filmmaker who is known for giving back-to-back blockbusters. This filmmaker has made many big multi-starrer films and has also made a record of bringing two superstars together after 32 years. He is none other than Subhash Ghai. After graduating from FTII Pune, subhash ghai made his onscreen debut. He did a small role with rajesh khanna in Aradhana. After that he appeared in the lead role in Umang and Gumraah and both the films proved to be flops. After which he stepped into direction.

subhash ghai directed Shatrughan Sinha's Kalicharan. This film proved to be a blockbuster and was the perfect start to his career. Later subhash ghai directed films like Vidhaata, Meri Jung, Karma, ram Lakhan, Saudagar, Khalnayak, Pardes and Taal.

In the year 2000, subhash ghai decided to take a backseat and started producing films. Films like Aitraaz, Iqbal and Apna Sapna Money Money have been made under Subhash Ghai's production house which proved to be hits. His career as a director fell when he gave flop films like Kisna, Yaadein, Black and White and Yuvraj. Subhash returned to direction with Kartik Aaryan's Kanchi: The Unbreakable. This film also proved to be a flop. Talking about the work front, his last work was the film 36 Farmhouse. He wrote and directed this film. It was premiered directly on OTT, Zee5.
