Akshay Kumar's Unique Record at Box-Office

On Independence Day, john abraham and Sharvari's Vedaa debuted to underwhelming box office receipts. Preliminary estimates have the film's opening-day revenue at about Rs. 6 crores. Due mostly to walk-in crowds taking advantage of the holiday, this figure exceeds earlier booking projections. Thanks to its action-packed genre, Vedaa has performed well in mass markets, surpassing Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein in terms of day-one collections. Khel Khel Mein was one of the worst debuts for the actor on Independence Day, taking in a catastrophic Rs. 5 crore on its first day of release.

It was still not up to par, even though it did better in cities. The odd thing about this is that, despite Kumar's star power, john Abraham's picture did better on the same day. stree 2, on the other hand, starring rajkummar rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has made an astounding amount of money, earning almost Rs. 52 crores on its first day of release, including paid screenings. In stree 2, akshay kumar too has a noteworthy appearance.

It's interesting to note that akshay kumar is currently enjoying a unique situation in which he has simultaneously earned the biggest and lowest openers (Rs. 53 crores for stree 2 and Rs. 5 crores for Khel Khel Mein). It is a remarkable accomplishment for an actor like him. While his brief appearance in stree 2 turned out to be a hit, the film in which akshay kumar plays a significant part has turned out to be a massive failure. Even while Akshay's supporters are happy to take credit for stree 2's success, they are noticeably avoiding talking about Khel Khel Mein's humiliating performance.
