He had separated from Karan

Nikhil had gone to the chat show Aapka Apna Zakir for the promotion of the film. Where he said that the first film made under his direction was Kal Ho Na Ho. Which proved to be a super hit. After that, there was some rift between him and karan johar, so he separated from his company. When Salman came to know about this, he called Nikhil and asked him to work with him. After which Nikhil decided to make Salaam-e-Ishq.
