He had separated from Karan
Nikhil went to the chat show Aapka Apna Zakir for the promotion of the film. Where he told that the first film made under his direction was Kal Ho Na Ho. Which proved to be a superhit. After that there was some rift between him and karan johar, so he separated from his company. When salman came to know about this, he called Nikhil and asked him to work with him. After which Nikhil decided to make Salaam-e-Ishq.
Salman Khan got angry
Nikhil further told- When everything was ready, everyone was ready on the first day. There was a shoot with salman and priyanka Chopra. I was looking at my camera and salman was ready for the shot. I said- 'Ok ready Shahrukh.' After that everyone present there became quiet. Salma was also looking at my face. After that she paused and said- 'Yes Karan.'
