 Actress samantha Ruth Prabhu has been appointed as the owner of the World Pickleball League (WPBL) chennai team. The World PickleBall League (WPBL) is a league run by Natekar sports and Gaming (NSG). As this sport is slowly gaining popularity in india, it has been announced that actress samantha will act as the captain of the chennai team in the upcoming league matches in India.
"Love at first sight" - that's how I would describe my feelings about this pickleball game. As soon as I saw this game it hooked me. I am delighted to be the owner of our chennai team in the upcoming World Pickleball League. I have always wanted to be a part of India's growing sports ecosystem," said Samantha. "In recent years, our country has made great strides in becoming a multi-sport nation, with a significant increase in women's participation in sports. My goal is to encourage young women to take up sports, and I am keen to be a part of this initiative. I am very excited to be a part of this initiative with Gaurav Natekar and AIPA.
"Pickleball is the fastest growing sport globally and in this league, the world's best players will showcase their skills on indian soil. Actress samantha is passionate about increasing women's participation in sports and creating opportunities for young women and girls. We at AIPA are promoting the sport of pickleball across the country. We are happy to collaborate with him to popularize it," said Arvind Prabhu, President, the All india Pickleball Association.
