Abhishek Banerjee Weighs in on stree 2 Credit Dispute

In the midst of the ongoing credit dispute between Shraddha Kapoor and rajkummar rao over the success of stree 2, abhishek banerjee has emphasized that the film belongs to everyone involved. Banerjee expressed his view that stree 2 is a collective effort and that any arguments over individual credit are just background noise.

In an interview with Zoom TV, abhishek banerjee commented, “I don’t understand PR or the social media conversations surrounding it. With every success, there will always be negativity and disputes. people need something to talk about and to amplify their voices. We don’t focus on such distractions.” He further elaborated, “When we started, no one said the film belonged to any particular person. You must have noticed that Jana’s entry received the loudest applause. Despite the presence of major stars, Jana’s role stands out. This film is an ensemble cast production, and its essence will not be altered by any noise or comparisons.”

Previously, Banerjee had stated in an interview with bollywood Life, “Stree belongs to amar Kaushik. All the arguments about credit are pointless. The director is the key to the film’s success. He unites the team and brings the vision to life. stree 2 is a team effort and an ensemble film.” He added, “The movie was made with collective love and hard work. There’s no need for unnecessary drama. We will continue to work and create more enjoyable projects.”

Aparshakti Khurana also weighed in on the credit dispute, telling Zoom TV, “If I comment on this, it will only escalate further. I prefer not to say much. The audience's opinion is what matters.” He noted that while the film is performing well at the box office, there seems to be a “PR game” involved in creating controversy.

Stree 2, starring rajkummar rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has recently surpassed Rs 500 crore in global box office collections. Directed by amar kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, the film is the sequel to the 2018 hit Stree.
