Wheel of Time Season 3 casting introduces a major character missing from Season 1.

A casting update for The Wheel of Time Season 3 hints at addressing a significant omission from the series' first season. Thandi Sebe has been cast as Solinda, an Aes Sedai from the Age of Legends who appears in the book The shadow Rising.

In Season 1, the adaptation deviated from Robert Jordan's novel The Eye of the World, omitting characters like Aginor, Balthamel, and the Green Man. However, the introduction of Solinda suggests that the show might revisit elements from the book that were previously left out.

Solinda's role becomes significant when Rand al'Thor, via a journey through Rhuidean in The shadow Rising, interacts with characters from the Age of Legends, including Solinda. This sequence is pivotal as it reveals the creation of the Eye of the World in response to the tainting of saidin and the Breaking of the World.

Given that Rhuidean and the events of The shadow Rising are central to Season 3, Solinda's inclusion implies that the show will explore these important historical moments from the books.
