Emergency: 'Censor tv debates too,' vivek Agnihotri furious over 'Emergency' not getting certification from CBFC

Amid the ongoing controversy over kangana Ranaut's next film 'Emergency', director vivek Agnihotri has criticized the censorship rules. The film's release has been delayed due to certification issues. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has not yet approved it. Regarding this, vivek Agnihotri shared his views on censorship on X (formerly Twitter), which kangana Ranaut also could not stop herself from sharing.

Vivek Agnihotri wrote on X on wednesday morning, 'Censorship: No creative expression should ever be censored - this is my personal view.' Vivek Agnihotri added, 'But if you still insist on censorship, why not start with tv debates, news programs, political speeches, and religious sermons? These are often the real sources of fake news, division, hatred, and violence.'

Vivek Agnihotri did not stop here and further said, 'If you feel that it defames you or hurts your feelings, then you should muster some courage to endure that criticism. If it does not present your side, then create something that presents your case. After all, cowards censor only that thing, which brings their ugly face in front of the world.'

Kangana Ranaut immediately agreed with vivek Agnihotri's statement and shared his tweet on her instagram story. Ranaut's film 'Emergency' is getting delayed due to certification issues. The release date of the film was fixed on 6 September. However, looking at the current situation, it is clear that it will not be able to hit the theaters on time.

According to the report, the wrong image of the Sikh community has been presented in the film. On this, they have demanded the removal of some scenes. These include the assassination of former prime minister Indira gandhi and the punjab riots. The bombay high court heard the matter today and made it clear that the film will not be released on 6 September. Talking about 'Emergency', apart from acting in it, kangana has also directed it. anupam kher and shreyas talpade are also in the lead roles in it.
