Taapsee Pannu Returns to Action in High-Stakes thriller 'Gandhari'

Mumbai: Actress taapsee pannu is set to make a dynamic return to the action genre with the upcoming film Gandhari, directed by Devashish Makhija, known for his work on Joram. This high-octane thriller promises a gripping storyline, filled with intense personal stakes and powerful action sequences. According to Netflix, the film features Pannu as a determined mother on a mission, navigating a world of mystery and high-stakes drama.

Pannu is reuniting with writer-producer kanika dhillon for this project. “There’s a special kind of magic that happens when kanika and I come together to work on a film,” Pannu remarked. She expressed her excitement about exploring new emotional depths with Gandhari, noting that it marks her return to action after nine years. "I've been waiting for a script that would challenge me in new ways, and Gandhari is that perfect fit. It offers a powerful story of a mother driven by revenge," she added.

This film also represents the sixth collaboration between Pannu and Dhillon, following successful projects like Manmarziyaan, Haseen Dillruba and its sequel Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, rashmi Rocket, and the Rajkumar Hirani-directed hit Dunki. Dhillon emphasized that Gandhari delves deeply into a mother’s fierce love and protective nature. "This is our first fiery, raw action thriller together, and we're excited to bring this tale of revenge and redemption to life," she said.

Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, director of Original Films at Netflix India, highlighted that Gandhari is a unique and emotionally charged story, underscoring Netflix's commitment to delivering engaging and distinctive narratives.
