An agreement was made between the two parties on 21 november 1994, but due to disagreement between the twoit was decided that the profit from Border would be shared equally. Also, Bharat Shah would be constantly informed about the financial condition of the film.



It is written in this notice that JP Dutta has not accepted the terms of the deal. Later, neither the finance was told about the financial details of the film nor was he paid the profits. Bharat Shah then complained to the indian Film and tv producer Council. In the year 2014, he also knocked on the door of the bombay High Court. The matter has now been transferred to the civil court and it is pending.


Got a share when the rights were sold to Sony


Speaking to bollywood Hungama in the year 2021, Bharat Shah said that I was not given any update regarding this film. When the rights to the film were sold to Sony, I got my share, but later I got nothing. Bharat Shah's complaint filed in 2012 is still pending. Due to COVID, the case is getting delayed and only dates are being given. According to reports, Border 2 is being directed by Anurag Singh and JP Dutta is its co-producer.
