Will kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency' release soon?

The upcoming film 'Emergency' directed and starring kangana ranaut has been surrounded by controversies for a long time. In fact, Sikh organizations including Shiromani Akali Dal have accused kangana Ranaut's film of misrepresenting their community and tampering with historical facts. At the same time, the film has also not received a certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). In such a situation, a hearing was held in the bombay high court today on this matter and the high court has directed the CBFC to take a decision in this matter by september 25.

CBFC directed to take a decision by september 25

According to PTI, the bombay high court said on thursday that creative freedom and freedom of expression cannot be curtailed and the Censor Board cannot refuse to give a certificate to a film just because there is a possibility of law and order problem. The bench of Justice bp Colabawala and Justice Firdosh Pooniwala also expressed displeasure with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for not taking a decision on issuing the certificate and ordered to take a decision by september 25.

It was asked whether the CBFC thinks that the people of this country are so naive that they believe everything shown in the film.

What did the petitioner say?

The petitioner had claimed that the CBFC was delaying the issuance of the certificate to the film for political reasons. On this, the high court said that the film's co-producer kangana ranaut herself is a sitting bjp mp and questioned whether the ruling party is working against its own MP. Let us tell you that apart from playing the lead role of former prime minister late indira gandhi in the film, the film's director and co-producer kangana ranaut had earlier this week accused the CBFC of withholding the certificate to delay the release.
