The bombay high court has granted bail to baker Anthony Paul and his associate Rajesh Bobhate, who were arrested for implicating bollywood actress Chrisann Pereira in a fake drugs case. Both of them were accused of cheating Chrisann Pereira and getting her arrested in Dubai. Anthony Paul and his associate Rajesh Bobhate were accused of forcing Chrisann Pereira to take drugs hidden in a trophy. After this, Pereira unknowingly went to dubai with the trophy, where she was arrested in Sharjah.
The accused have implicated a person earlier as well
Let us tell you that these two accused, who were released on bail, had sent a person named Clayton Rodrigues to dubai with drugs apart from Chrisann Pereira. This person used to work as a dj and is currently serving a 25-year sentence in sharjah in the drugs case. In such a situation, Rodrigues' family, with the help of the government of India, has fought to appeal against Rodrigues' sentence.
The court had granted bail with this argument
Justice manish Pitale, while hearing the fake drugs case of Crisann Pereira, has granted bail to both the accused today. The court said in its decision that this case is of 500 grams of ganja which is a very small quantity. Apart from this, the police have filed a charge sheet in the case and the accused have been in jail for more than 17 months. Because of this, there is no point in keeping them in jail now. Earlier, the Sessions court had rejected Paul's bail plea, after which he knocked the door of bombay High Court.
