Bharathiraja Praises Renaming of Kamdar nagar Main Road After SP Balasubrahmanyam

Indian film director and actor bharathiraja has expressed his support for the tamil Nadu government's decision to rename Kamdar nagar Main Road in chennai in honor of the late playback singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam.

At a recent press conference, bharathiraja stated, “Renaming the road after S.P. Balasubrahmanyam is a fitting tribute. When friends part, we cherish the memories, and reliving those moments is our grace. His musical voice continues to resonate with us.” He thanked the tamil Nadu government and chief minister MK stalin for this commendable gesture, highlighting their commitment to the tamil film industry.

Following the announcement, SP Balasubrahmanyam's son, singer-producer SP Charan, also expressed gratitude on social media. Chief minister stalin emphasized the significance of this honor, noting SPB's remarkable contribution of over 40,000 songs across multiple languages, including tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam. He reflected on SPB’s close friendship with the late DMK leader and former chief minister M. Karunanidhi, reinforcing the singer's lasting impact on tamil culture.

SP Balasubrahmanyam, who passed away on september 25, 2020, is celebrated for his extensive work in various indian film industries and received prestigious awards such as the padma shri and Padma Bhushan.
