Turkish TikTok influencer Kubra Aykut committed suicide in Istanbul at the age of 26. She went viral for her video "Marriage without a groom". Kubra Aykut committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of a luxury apartment in Sultanbeyi district. The incident took place on september 23 and a suicide note was also found at the scene.
She was worried about losing weight
According to Turkish media reports, a few hours before her death, she shared a touching letter on her account, in which she wrote about her struggle to gain weight. Kubra wrote, "I have gathered my energy, but I am not able to gain weight. Every day I am losing one kilogram of weight. I don't know what to do; I need to gain weight immediately."
Before her death, Kubra posted the last video on her TikTok account, in which she is seen cleaning her house. Kubra had more than 1 million followers on TikTok and more than 2,07,000 followers on Instagram. Kubra gained huge popularity on TikTok in 2023 with the "Bina Groom Ki Shaadi" video series. She symbolically "married" herself by wearing a beautiful white gown and crown and said, "I am not getting a suitable groom for myself."
TikTok influencers will attend the funeral
In another video, Kubra was seen sitting in a car, shouting with joy with a bouquet of flowers in her hand. In a separate viral video, she jokingly called herself a "nervous bride" while eating a burger in wedding clothes. Turkish authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of her death, and her body has been sent for post-mortem. The funeral will be held at her parents' house, which will also be attended by several TikTok influencers. Her parents are grieving her departure and are going through the endless pain of their daughter's death.
