Emergency: 'Working with the Censor Board for certification', 'Emergency' producers told the High Court

Zee Entertainment Enterprises, the co-producer of kangana Ranaut's film 'Emergency', told the bombay high court on thursday that it is working with the Censor Board on the issue of issuing a certificate for the film.

The release of kangana Ranaut's film 'Emergency' is stuck due to the censor certificate. The film was to be released on the 6th of last month. However, the release was postponed due to the non-receipt of a certificate from the Censor Board. The Censor Board asked the producers to make some changes to the film. The producers have agreed to this. Today in the bombay high court, Zee Entertainment, the co-producer of this film, said that they are working with the Censor Board for certification.

The film was to be released last month.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises, the co-producer of kangana Ranaut's film 'Emergency', told the bombay high court on thursday that it is working with the censor board on the issue of issuing a certificate for the film. The film was earlier scheduled to release on 6 september 2024, but it got embroiled in a dispute with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) due to the non-issuance of a certificate for the release of the film.

The lawyer gave this argument.

Last week, the CBFC told the high court that if some cuts are made in the film as per the decision of the board's revising committee, then the film can be released. On thursday, senior advocate sharan Jagtiani told a division bench of Justices bp Colabawala and Firdaus Pooniwala that the issues are being worked out. He said, 'I believe the matter is being resolved between the CBFC and Respondent 2 (Ranaut's manikarnika films and co-producer)'.

The next hearing is on Friday.

Now the matter will be heard tomorrow on Friday. Earlier this week, the censor board had told the bench that Ranaut's production company Manikarnika has agreed to the cuts. At the same time, the film's co-producer company Zee Entertainment filed a petition in the high court seeking direction to the CBFC to issue a certificate for the film 'Emergency' directed by kangana Ranaut. The film 'Emergency' is directed by Kangana. In this film, she will be seen in the role of former PM Indira Gandhi.
