Alia Bhatt: alia bhatt was not the first choice for 'Dear Zindagi'! Was Gauri's name running in her mind?

Alia Bhatt is currently busy promoting her upcoming film 'Jigra'. The actress also shoots for yash Raj Films' Spy Universe film 'Alpha'. Alia has included herself in the list of bollywood superstars in a very short time. She has worked in films like 'Raazi', 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', 'Rocky and rani Ki prem Kahani', 'And Darlings'. These films cemented her place in the industry.

The actress starred in 'Dear Zindagi' opposite Shah Rukh Khan. She played a brilliant role in this film. However, very few people know that alia was not the first choice for this film. The actress herself shared this during an interview. She said she was not Gauri's first choice for Dear 'Zindagi'.

Gauri Shinde, who was making a comeback after the success of 'English Vinglish' opposite Sridevi, had someone else in mind for 'Dear Zindagi'. In a conversation with CNN-IBN, the actress was asked if she knew that she was not the first choice for the film.

During the interview, alia shared that Shah Rukh Khan and karan johar, who were also the producers of the film, convinced Gauri to consider alia as they felt she would not look too young for the role. Reacting to this, alia said, 'I know that someone else was also ready to do the film first and then there was a discussion about maybe the film could come to me. That's all I know. The next thing I knew, Gauri came to me and we agreed. Now, I don't know if she agreed or not, maybe because I was young too, but it's okay because sometimes your director has to look at things a little differently.'

According to media reports, katrina kaif was first rumored to be cast for the film, but eventually, Alia was cast in her place. Talking about the film's performance, grossed Rs 68.45 crore at the box office. Aditya Roy Kapur, Kunal Kapoor, Angad Bedi, and ali zafar appeared in cameos in the film.
