In the year 2023, shakti kapoor gave an interview to DD urdu in which he revealed that mithun was his senior in the acting institute of Pune. During this, shakti mentioned his first meeting with Mithun. He said that when he met mithun for the first time, the actor was seen wearing a dhoti with many holes. During this, shakti had alcohol in his hand and he offered it to Mithun.

shakti kapoor said- 'By the time we reached pune, I had beer in my hand and I was feeling like a star. We reached the hostel, rakesh roshan had come to drop me. I saw a boy standing at the gate, he was wearing a dhoti and had a muscular body. There were so many holes in his dhoti that you can't even count them. He was dark. He looked at rakesh roshan and touched his feet.

shakti further said- 'I had beer in my hand and I asked him, 'Would you like to have some beer?' He refused and said that this is not allowed in the institute and then he introduced himself, he was mithun Chakraborty. Rakesh and others went and one of them held my hand and the other my leg. They pulled me into a room, threw me on the floor and asked how dare you ask a senior if he would like to drink beer?
