Rajesh Kumar has revealed this in an interview given to Dainik Bhaskar. He told, "We had to shoot a nine-minute long sequence. The shot was like this - I am sitting in a bar and drinking alcohol and my father comes. He sees me in that condition and slaps me. Till now I had never played the role of a drunkard, so to get into the character, I took a shot of brandy. We rehearsed and finally, we were shooting the final shot. We had completed seven minutes of the sequence, with the last two minutes left where I was to be slapped.'
Rajesh further said, “Manohar ji slapped me so hard that a strange sound kept ringing in my ears for a long time. The shot was over and the entire crew was silent. I couldn't stop myself from thinking, 'Why did he hit me so hard?' Then we took a walk and he told me about the 11 symptoms of an alcoholic. I think it stayed with me, I understood the seriousness of the craft.”
The decision to quit acting and take up farming proved costly
Let us tell you that despite enjoying a lot of success on television, Rajesh quit acting at the peak of his career and started farming in 2019. However, during this time he had to face a financial crisis. Rajesh then made a comeback to acting with the series Kota Factory, Rajesh's acting career picked up again with a role in Binny & Family, filmed in the UK. However, he was still struggling financially and could barely afford to buy essentials for his children. He said, "I had only Rs 2,500 in my bank account. I couldn't even buy chocolates for my children." He further said that he made a comeback to acting by working in the shahid kapoor and nawazuddin siddiqui starrer project.
