When Deepika Padukone Was Replaced In A Major Film Because Its hero Said So: 'I Ended Up Doing Yeh Jawaani...'

Recently, an old interview clip of deepika padukone seems to be going viral in which she admits that she was replaced in a film, many years ago, because of a hero's final call on it.

Deepika Padukone is currently on maternity leave. The actor, who is currently taking some time off, and will next be seen in 'Singham Again', has come a long way in Bollywood. Deepika has worked in a variety of genres and has been working in the industry for many years now.

Recently, an old interview clip of deepika padukone seems to be going viral in which she admits that she was replaced in a film, many years ago, because of a hero's final call on it. While deepika reinstated that things have changed now, her confession seems to have caught her fan's attention. 

While a fan page suggested that deepika is talking about losing ‘Dhoom 3’ to katrina kaif because the film’s hero Aamir Khan had the last word, it was all for good because deepika got to do the coming-of-age romantic drama ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’.

In the video clip, we hear deepika tell Jitesh Pillai, “At that time, I felt that that film would have done a lot for my career, just being a part of that film. And, I met the producer, then he was like 'We are sure but I have to ask the actor but consider it done...'. I was very excited because it came out of nowhere, I thought I had it, all of that. And then, I suddenly found out that I was no longer in that film. There had been some sort of a swap."

“I ended up doing a film: Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani that I am so happy I did. I am so happy it fell into my lap. It's the best thing that could have happened to me,” she added.

While nowhere in the clip does deepika state the name of the actress who replaced her or the actor who had her replaced, or the name of the film, many have alleged that it is ‘Dhoom 3’ she is talking about.

Nevertheless, deepika went on to star in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The film was a blockbuster and earned massive love and appreciation from audiences who enjoyed it.
