Reportedly kannada Film industry should start promoting their movies in neighboring states, for example Kollywood, Tollywood, mollywood industries distribute their movies in rest of the states widely, whereas Sandalwood is very poor in promoting their movies neighboring states. Furthermore other than few actors like Puneeth, Upendra, Ramesh Arvind, Sudeep, rakshit shetty, Shruthi Hariharan, Shraddha Shrinath, pawan kumar rest of the artists are unknown to people from states.
But very few artists from kannada industry are acting in other industries and moreover this is not the case with rest of the film industries, where lead or supporting artists from one industry will act in movies of other industry. Apparently in Tamilnadu, ap & Telangana, kerala the lead actors like Rajini, Kamal, Ajith, Vijay, Suriya, Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, Prabhas, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Nivin, Dulquer have huge fan base in their respective states where one could see they are being considered as demi-gods than actors.
Moreover also tamil artists like Ajith, Vijay, and Suriya have huge fan base in kerala and telugu artists like Mahesh and pawan kalyan have huge fan base in TN. This is another plus point for distributers where they can trust this fan base and release the movie without fearing about collections. Furthermore Sandalwood doesn’t allow other language movies to be dubbed in kannada and as an example Baahubali which was available in telugu (original version),Tamil, Malayalam, hindi except kannada and lot more tamil movies are dubbed in telugu which obviously make telugu audience aware of tamil artists.
