Hrithik Roshan: 'Hrithik roshan always called me a struggler', Sonali Kulkarni praised the actor

In a recent interview, Sonali Kulkarni worked with Hrithik in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film in 2000. The actress recalled her experience of working with Hrithik when he was new to the film industry. Sonali said that she was only 25 years old at that time and she had no idea that she was going to play his foster mother on screen.

In a conversation with siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Sonali was asked if she had any hesitation about playing Hrithik's mother on screen and the actress said that she was more worried about playing Sanjay Dutt's wife on screen because she believed she was too short. The actress further said when asked about playing Hrithik's mother Neelima, she said, "I had no problem because I always felt I wanted to act. I wanted to be someone else."

Sonali Kulkarni revealed that she got a call from Vidhu Vinod Chopra's office and was told that it was an audition for Sanjay Dutt's wife, which made her worried. "I thought they won't cast me because sanjay dutt is too tall. I had 7 feet of height in my mind, I was thinking about his screen presence. I thought they would reject me."

She then recalled her meeting with Hrithik on the day of the audition and said, "I met Hrithik on the day of the audition. He said, 'Hi, I am hrithik roshan, Rakesh Roshan's son. I am a struggler.' He had just started working on his first film Kaho Naa Pyar Hai. I said, 'Hi, I am Sonali Kulkarni, BG Kulkarni's daughter. I am also a struggler.' We wished each other."
