Pan india music director rahman shared a lighthearted story about how different he and AR rahman are. He joked that while he’s the outgoing one, AR rahman is super dedicated and spiritual. To prove his point, he told a fun story from AR Rahman’s honeymoon: instead of spending time with his wife, AR rahman was in another room practising his veena late at night! rahman laughed, saying they’re “polar opposites,” with the composer always lost in his music, even during his honeymoon.
Perhaps in an interview with siddharth Kannan, the actor said, “We are pole’s apart in character. He is north and I am south; it’s like that. He’s reserved, very spiritual; he is quiet and very, very dedicated. I’m open. I remember, when he got married, he took my sister-in-law for the honeymoon to a hill station. I called them that night, it was just 12 or 1… She answered, she was sleeping already. I asked, ‘Where is Rahman’. She said, ‘I don’t know’. He was in another room, practicing his veena… He was composing something; he’s that kind of person.”
Moreover AR rahman won two Oscars in 2009 for his work on Slumdog Millionaire. He took home awards for Best Original Score and Best Original Song for jai Ho. This was a milestone for indian music globally. AR rahman also earned two Grammys for the same film.
