Today actor Puneet Issar is celebrating his 65th birthday. Let us know some special stories related to the actor's life on this special occasion...

Puneet used to prepare to become a villain.

Puneet was born on 6 november 1959 in Punjab. Puneet was born in the house of director Sudesh Issar, who directed many films like 'Prem Geet', 'Aakhri Muqabla', 'Farebi' and 'Sauda'. In such a situation, Puneet was also passionate about acting since childhood. He wanted to make a name in the industry when he grew up. While everyone comes to bollywood to become a hero, Puneet chose the opposite and decided to play the role of a villain and started preparing himself for villainous roles.

According to reports, Puneet completed his graduation and then started making his way towards acting. He got his first chance in amitabh Bachchan's film 'Coolie', in which he played the villain, but this happy moment became a lifelong pain for Puneet. Due to this very first film, he got embroiled in such a big controversy, which he could never get rid of. During the shooting of this film, Puneet Issar accidentally punched amitabh bachchan, after which he was seriously injured and narrowly escaped death.

After the 'Coolie' accident, he did not get work for many years.

After this, Puneet Issar was desperate for work for many years, but after four years of struggle, BR Chopra's serial 'Mahabharat' which came in 1987 proved to be a milestone for his career, but even in 'Mahabharat', he got the role of 'Duryodhan' with great difficulty. He once told in an interview that after the 'Coolie' accident, amitabh bachchan forgave him, but everyone blamed him for it and Big B's fans were angry with him. In such a situation, he was removed from six to seven films continuously. After this, he gave several thousand auditions, after which he got the role in 'Mahabharat'.

This is how he got the role of 'Duryodhan'

Although BR Chopra had cast him for the role of 'Bheem' in the serial, Puneet wanted to play the role of 'Duryodhan'. In such a situation, due to his height, he was forced to play the role of 'Bheem', but when he asked for the role of 'Duryodhan', BR Chopra put a condition that if an actor taller than him could be found for the role of Bheem, then he could become 'Duryodhan', otherwise he would have to become 'Bheem'. However, later the role of 'Bheem' was played by the athlete and two-time Asian Games gold medalists praveen Kumar and Puneet became 'Duryodhan'. Puneet also said that after becoming 'Duryodhan', people started considering him a villain and used to say bad things about him.

Tried his hand in direction along with acting

However, after this Puneet worked in many films, serials, and series. Along with this, Puneet also tried his hand at direction and also produced many films as a producer. He also became a part of salman Khan's reality show 'Bigg Boss 8' and he made a lot of headlines by staying fit even at the age of more than 60. He is married to Deepali, daughter of actor Daljit puri and sister of actor Satyajit Puri. After Mahabharat, Punit has acted in several films including Chandra Mukhi (1993), prem Shakti (1994), ram Jaane (1995), Border (1997), Refugee (2000), Krrish (2006), Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), Ready (2011), Son of Sardar (2012) and The kashmir Files (2022).
