The film, written by avinash and Arjun, is based on the Godhra train burning incident of february 27, 2002, involving the Sabarmati Express train. Produced by balaji Motion Pictures and Vikir Films Production, Raashii plays the role of “Amrita Gill", an english journalist who stood up against the system in the film.
