anil kapoor and Sridevi's 1987 film 'Mr. India' is an iconic film of hindi cinema. This film was way ahead of its time. This film is still praised a lot due to its interesting story, brilliant direction and tremendous acting of all the stars. During an interview, the film's director Shekhar Kapoor shared many stories related to the set. He also told a funny story of sridevi with a cockroach in the film.
A cockroach was made to drink alcohol for a scene with Sridevi
Actually, while talking to Daily Post, Shekhar revealed that there was a scene between a cockroach and sridevi in the film. Now the question was how the cockroach was made to act. He told that then he and cinematographer baba Azmi decided to pour some rum in front of the cockroach. He revealed, “Me and baba Azmi, we were thinking how to activate the cockroach? We thought let's take a bottle of Old Monk rum... We poured some rum in front of the cockroach... We thought it will drink it and act up (laughs). We actually felt like the cockroach got drunk... maybe the cockroach liked the Old Monk. "
'Mr. India' will have a sequel
Apart from anil kapoor and sridevi, veterans like Satish Kaushik, amrish puri and annu kapoor played brilliant roles in Mr. India. The film was produced by boney Kapoor. Recently, the makers had revealed that its sequel is currently in the pre-mature stage and is likely to be made soon. In a conversation with bollywood Hungama, boney said, "It will definitely come back. When it has to happen, it will happen. Actually, recently a foreign studio/western studio contacted me. It could be a combination of Zee Studios, boney kapoor and that foreign studio. We can collaborate. So, things are at a very premature stage. I cannot talk much but it will happen. It will definitely happen in the coming time."
