The singer said that he was fine and safe. Udit Narayan said that the incident happened on january 6 at 9.15 pm. He confirmed that he was safe and lived in the A wing, while the fire broke out in the B wing.

According to india Today's report, the singer said that the fire broke out in the other part of the building. One person came in the grip of this fire and lost his life. The alarms of the building rang and the people living in the building had to stay downstairs for four to five hours. A lot of effort was made to extinguish the fire that broke out at around 9 pm and it was brought under control in the morning.

The singer said, "It was a difficult night for everyone." Though the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, he is deeply worried about the situation and the death of a person living in the building. According to reports, the fire took the life of Udit Narayan's neighbor Rahul Mishra, who lived on the 11th floor of the second wing. The man was rushed to Kokilaben Hospital but was declared dead as he died of suffocation due to smoke inhalation. His relative Raunak Mishra was seriously injured.

The mumbai fire Brigade headquarters in Byculla confirmed and said that the incident took place due to a malfunction in electrical equipment in Mishra's flat.
