The film 'Dil', released in the year 1990, changed the fortunes of Aamir Khan. Apart from aamir khan, madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher, and Saeed Jafri were seen in the film. This film was very special for aamir khan because before that his eight consecutive films were flops. Recently, the director of this film, indra kumar, shared his experience of working with Aamir Khan. He also said that during the making of the film, there were disagreements between him and aamir khan regarding some creative things.
Indra Kumar said that there was a disagreement between him and Aamir Khan regarding a scene in the film, in which both of them spent half a day talking. In a recent conversation with siddharth Kannan, indra kumar said that aamir khan was as outspoken then as he is today. He had earned a name for himself as Mr. Perfectionist. But, he tried to keep himself away from some aspects of 'Dil'.
Indra Kumar said, 'There was a scene in the film 'Dil' in which aamir khan breaks a stick and marries. Aamir did not agree with this. He said, 'Indu you have gone mad, who marries like this?' Indra Kumar said that this was the only time when he and aamir khan disagreed. The conversation between them started at nine in the morning and continued till one in the afternoon. The director said, 'I told aamir khan that I am ready to risk my life that the audience will applaud this scene. And I was right.
Indra Kumar gave another example of the film 'Mann'. He said that I was proved wrong about this film. I thought 'Mann' would be a hit, but it did not. He also said that during the making of the film 'Mann', Aamir Khan had expressed his concerns. One day Aamir told me on the set, 'Indu year, this picture is going somewhere else.' He said that he was feeling uncomfortable. I told him that we should be confident.
