Los Angeles Wildfires: Disney extended a helping hand, and donated so many crores to recover from the damage caused by the fire


Los Angeles Wildfires: Given the huge loss caused by the forest fire in Los Angeles, the Walt Disney Company has announced help for relief and reconstruction.

So far, a lot of damage has been done in the forest fire in Los Angeles County. Given this huge loss, the Walt Disney Company has extended a helping hand. On Friday, the company announced that it would donate $15 million (about Rs 120 crore) for initial and immediate relief and reconstruction efforts.


Thousands of homes and buildings have been burnt in this fire so far and at least 10 people have died. The flames have burned thousands of acres of land in Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Pasadena, and hollywood Hills. Disney said in its announcement that its donation will go to organizations like the American red Cross, Los Angeles fire Department Foundation, and Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.


Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger said, "The Walt Disney Company is committed to supporting our community and our employees in this tragedy so that together we can recover and rebuild from this loss."


He further said, "Walt Disney set foot in Los Angeles with his imagination. It is here that he pursued his dreams and created amazing stories that are important to millions of people around the world. We are proud to support this strong and vibrant community during this difficult time." Disney praised the efforts of first responders like LAFD and KABC's journalists working round the clock this week and said that in addition to the donation of $15 million, the company intends to give more resources to its employee relief fund to help employees facing difficulties due to this crisis.
