According to the officer, Salmani had worked on the actor's flat two days before the incident. The officer said that the contractor who got the work done had informed the carpenter about the attack. He said that after hours of interrogation, the police took him to an unknown place. Another officer, on the condition of anonymity, said that the person brought to the Bandra police station for questioning had no connection with the attack on Saif ali Khan.


He said, 'No one has been arrested so far. More than 30 teams have been formed to trace and arrest the attacker.' The officer said that the age of the attacker is being said to be between 35 and 40 years.


Underworld has no connection with the incident - Home Minister

Maharashtra's minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam said that theft was the motive behind this incident and completely rejected the possibility of any underworld gang being involved in the attack. Saif was attacked with a sharp weapon in which he suffered injuries in six places including his neck. He underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital, which he reached in a hurry by autorickshaw.


Saif may be discharged in two to three days.

Lilavati Hospital's neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange said, "We are monitoring his progress and as per our expectations his condition is improving well. As per his progress, we have advised him to rest and if he feels fine, we will discharge him in two to three days."
