The telugu film industry is known for bankrolling some high-end actioners like 'Baahubali' and 'R' which have put indian cinema on a global map. However, after responses to recent films like 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', 'Game Changer' and 'Sankrantiki Vasthunnam', the makers mythri movie makers and Sri Venkateswara Creations have landed in trouble.
Raids in prominent telugu production houses
The two production houses were doing well until today's IT department's raids in the offices and the houses of members of these production companies.
The Income Tax department conducted raids in places affiliated with producer Dil Raju, his daughter Hansika Reddy, his business partner Shirish, and Mythri Movie Makers Naveen Yerneni and ravi Shankar. The raids involved over 50 teams and happened simultaneously in over eight locations, including residences, offices, and other venues.
While no official statement came from the department about the reason behind these raids, it is no secret that the mentioned production companies share their budget and collections of their films on social media, and that could have been the reason behind the investigation into these production houses' finances.
Recent box office collections
'Pushpa 2' has collected over Rs. 1700 cr worldwide, while 'Game Changer' and 'Sankrantiki Vasthunnam' have raked in Rs.400-500 cr. These raids have come as a surprise in the telugu film industry, which has been on a high ride since the last few years. The two production companies have not responded to the events of the day.
