The central government has announced to honor citizens with Padma Awards for their extraordinary contributions in various fields. The list of stars to be awarded the Padma Awards also includes the name of producer-director Shekhar Kapoor. Kapoor shared a post on social media and thanked the central government as well as the fans.

Shekhar Kapoor shared a post on the official X handle and not only thanked the government of india but also called himself lucky. He wrote, 'This is a matter of great honor for me. I am very grateful that the government of india has considered me worthy of Padma Bhushan.'

Shekhar Kapoor expressed happiness and further said, 'Hopefully this award will inspire me to serve the industry and serve the beautiful nation I am a part of. I am very lucky.'

Shekhar Kapoor thanked the country, the government as well as the fans. He said, 'Thanks to our film audience too, I am here because you are here.'

Let us tell you that Shekhar Kapur, who is counted among the successful directors of bollywood and hollywood, started directing with the 1983 film 'Masoom'. Naseeruddin Shah, urmila matondkar, shabana azmi were in important roles in the film. After this, he directed 1987's 'Mr. India', in which many actors including Anil Kapoor, sridevi and Satish kaushik were seen in important roles. amrish puri played the role of villain Mogambo in the film.

Kapoor also directed successful films like 'Barsaat', 'Dushmani' along with the 1994 film 'Bandit Queen'. In 2016, Kapoor also made a documentary on Amma, popularly known as Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, named 'The Science of Compassion'. Shekhar made the hollywood film 'Elizabeth' in 1998 and then 'Elizabeth the Golden Age' in 2007. This too was well liked. 'Elizabeth' was awarded the BAFTA Outstanding british Film Award in 1999.
