Aamir Khan, who participated in the Republic Day 2025 celebrations at the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, shared exciting details about his upcoming projects, particularly the much-awaited sequel to Taare Zameen Par, titled Sitaare Zameen Par. The actor, who reunited with darsheel safary after 16 years, also reflected on Gujarat’s evolution and its strong connection to indian cinema.
Aamir Khan shares update on Sitaare Zameen Par
While speaking to the media, Aamir revealed that a key portion of the film was shot in Gujarat. “The sequel to Taare Zameen Par is Sitaare Zameen Par, and the climax of that movie was shot in vadodara,” he shared, hinting at the importance of the location in the film's storyline.
Reflecting on his early memories of Gujarat, Aamir recalled how the state has always been significant to him. “When I was young, many of my father's films were shot in Gujarat. I was very small at that time, so I would come here. Today, all those memories have come rushing back,” he said.
He also commented on how much vadodara has changed over the years. “There have been a lot of changes in Vadodara. There are many luxurious buildings now, and the roads have improved significantly. When I first came here, I was probably around 12 years old. A lot of changes have taken place in this area since then.”
Praising Gujarat’s vibrant cultural and cinematic history, Aamir expressed enthusiasm for future projects in the region. “Gujarat has been closely associated with filmmaking for a long time. It is a very vibrant place, with a strong connection to cinema, culture, and art. From the film industry’s side, we would love to come here and shoot,” he added.
About the film
Talking about Sitaare Zameen Par, which will explore the next chapter in Ishaan’s journey, Aamir revealed plans for a christmas release. “My next film as a lead actor is Sitaare Zameen Par. We are trying to release it by the end of this year, on the occasion of Christmas. It is an entertaining film. I like the story. The shooting of the film has begun,” he said.
In addition to starring in the movie, Aamir is also producing it, with genelia D’Souza reportedly playing a pivotal role. The sequel aims to recapture the emotional and inspiring spirit of its predecessor while exploring new themes and narratives.
